"We Are The Armenians."
Long black hair, bushy eyebrows
A coffin shaped nose represents the names of Many
The names of people who have been silenced to Death
The names of people who once spoke words that have now been lost and Forgotten
Blood and tears are shed from unknown Silence
For those that do not know about Us
We Are The Armenians. “
My name is Anna D. I am a Russian/Armenian, living in Moscow, Russia. I am interested in different styles of art, either using a paint brush or just watching a ballet in the theatre. I love writing poems and reading books as well as making art myself. I wanted to take this opportunity to share a personal poem to the world because it can allow others who have the same background as me to be heard. I also want to spread awareness on what has been happening in Armenia. My ancestors have been through many conflicts and to this day my people are still suffering from this horrific event. I want the voices of my people to be heard even if it’s just through a small audience. If just one person reads this, that can still make a difference in the Armenian community. This is also a reflection of who I am as an Armenian woman myself. I might not say much, but with powerful words I’m able to express how I feel. I hope you enjoy my poem and I hope it sparks the inspiration to make a difference.
