Mother Nature: Respect The Earth-Respect It!
Ever since the dawn of time, we have been told to respect our Mothers; take care of our Mothers, just as they did for us. The very Mothers that fueled our innate creation, and planted our feet on the grounds that we are able to freely roam today. When someone blatantly disrespects their Mother, it reveals a great quantity of that someone’s character. In fact, deliberate neglect of the being who embodied a conceivable miracle in just nine months might be one of humanities most destructive crimes. Generally, a Mother wants to adore their creation, which is you, so each time you dismiss her admiration, the more corruption is flooded throughout the both of you.
No one’s perfect, especially us, humans. We tend to get lost in the daily struggles of our personal journeys, disregarding the greater landscape. While we continue to hyper-focus on our own minuscule disruptions, we lose touch of truth, and are blinded by self-interest. Disoriented, we are unable to see the world from a clear universal standpoint, but rather an individualized perception of limitation. Sometimes it’s not our fault, it’s just how our brains manage this evolved concept of stress that is now called life. The good news is, we haven’t evolved far enough away from our roots to dismiss the power of a deep breath. Within all of the chaos, we still have the ability to cut out all distractions, for just a moment, and go back to the basics. The base, the root, the ground; The Earth, is the sole gift that allows us to regenerate our sense of purpose.
Mother Nature is the ultimate Mother, the ultimate creator and the ultimate care-giver. Similar to someone disrespecting their Mother, when someone disrespects Mother Nature, it reveals much of their darkness and does quite a disservice to both parties. Nature is in our nature; we are nature. The more we poison our admiration for it, depriving ourselves from our true longing to connect deeply with Earth and one another, the more we become groundlessly unfounded. In other words, we become lost, unhappy and unfulfilled with the insignificant focal points of our lives that we have allowed to dictate our serenity for so long. Searching far and wide through various cities, states, houses, cars, salaries, certificates and labels, we are still unable to fill that insatiable desire for well-being. It is not until we realize that our void is vacant, not because we are missing something, but because we aren't accepting what is already there, that we are then able to feel an oasis of tension lifted off of our shoulders. It’s like apologizing to your Mother after an argument; peaceful, grateful to have made amends.
Come back down to Earth. She pleads. Through her melting glaciers, warming oceans, dying species, painful droughts, vicious wildfires, deforested terrain and decimation of Earthly peace, are you able to hear her cry for help? She's shaking the ground you walk on in attempts to show her desperation for support. Can’t you see she needs you? You’ve left her waiting far too long.
Today, Earth Day of 2023, claim your love for yourself and the world. Redeem your connection to the roots, repairing past neglect. Not everyone has a biological Mother to count on, but everyone does have Mother Nature and all of her biologies to fall back, lean, rest, walk and grow on. I suggest you do so, today. Deep breaths and small steps can provoke a tremendous amount of growth throughout yourself and The Planet. Happy Earth Day.
